Curly Cut & Finish

From £53
From 60 mins

Your curls are not like anyone else's. They have their own pattern, density, porosity and personality, and your cut should reflect that.

At The Vintage Avenue, our curly cut and finish begins with a thorough consultation.

Syd assesses your curl formation, hydration levels and how your hair behaves before a single snip is taken.

From there, the cut is performed wet, following the natural fall of each curl so the shape works with your pattern rather than flattening or distorting it.

The finish is just as considered. Products are chosen for your specific curl type, applied with intention, and the result is diffused and set so you leave with curls that are defined, bouncy and ready for real life.

You will also receive guidance on how to recreate the look at home.

Who It's For

This service is for anyone with wavy, curly or coily hair who wants a cut that works with their natural texture. It suits first-time curly clients as much as those returning to their natural pattern after years of straightening. If you have struggled to find a stylist who understands your curls, or if your current cut loses its shape between appointments, this service is designed for you. It is also ideal for clients who want to grow their curls stronger and healthier over time.

Duration and Appointment Timing

Allow about 60 minutes depending on hair length, density and curl complexity. Clients with very thick, long or heavily layered hair may require additional time.

If you are visiting for the first time, your consultation will be more detailed, so it is worth allowing a little extra time. Come with your hair in its natural state if possible, free from heavy styling products, so Syd can assess your curl pattern accurately.

Aftercare and Maintenance

For the first 24 hours, avoid touching the hair excessively and keep it away from moisture while the cut settles. Sleep with a loose silk scrunchie or on a silk pillowcase to reduce friction and preserve the shape. When washing at home, use a sulphate-free shampoo and a hydrating conditioner. Apply a leave-in product to soaking wet hair and scrunch gently rather than rubbing. Diffuse on a low heat setting or allow to air dry with minimal disturbance. Regular trims every 8 to 12 weeks will keep the shape balanced and prevent the ends from drying out. Syd will advise on a schedule that suits your hair and how it grows.
