FaceRealitySkincare recently revealed the results of a survey of >1,000 respondents in the US. Part of the survey asked questions about the impact of acne on social pressure, professional experiences, mental health and efficacy of treatments.
95% of respondents admitted they picked at their acne, which could lead to open wounds, scabs & moderate-severe scarring.
69% said they avoided social situations like work, school or an outing due to acne, and 30% said they thought acne put them at a disadvantage in job interviews.
78% sought professional treatment from either a therapist or doctor, and 54% reported it being the most effective treatment for their acne.
